The type of vegetation found is Acadian. Some types of trees in Acadian regions are Red Spruce, Balsam Fir, Maple, Red Pine, and White Pine. The forestry is commercial. The type of soil located in Sydney is Podzol, leached soil. Leached soil is too wet, causing the nutrients to be washed out of the soil. There is very little agriculture in Sydney, but there is more on other parts of the island.
